We are so proud of our Kindergarten actors! They have been working hard for weeks to learn lines, positioning on stage, songs, and dances. It’s finally show time! The reviews are in from Thursday’s performance, and the audience loved it! For many of our students this was their first time performing a show on stage, and they all had so much fun! Throughout the week we reflected on our play process. We asked the children to write about their favorite part of the process and how they feel while performing. This made for some great discussion and helped us process our feelings before the big day. We are really looking forward to showing off for the third grade students and our families and friends!
This week the children are counting the days until the 100th day of school! Monday is sure to be an exciting and fun day full of counting and math activities. To commemorate the day, each child brought in 100 items to add to a 100-Day Museum in our classrooms. Some of the items included paper clips, marbles, pencils, and erasers to name a few. We will display all of the items and tour the museum next week. The children also helped to create Blue and Green K signs of 100 items, which will be displayed on a math bulletin board upstairs. They are also busy getting ready for their very first play performance on stage next week. After completing 100 days in Kindergarten, the children are ready to make their debut!
Love is in the air in kindergarten! The children have been eagerly awaiting the Valentine's Day party all week long. The upcoming holiday is a great reason to talk about our feelings and what we can do to show kindness and love to our friends. The children thought of many great ideas; they then made hearts, which we displayed on our classroom doors, with their thoughtful responses about why they love Blue K and Green K. They even showed their love for the teachers by creating love notes for Teacher Appreciation Day! We have been busy decorating our room and our special Valentine's bags in preparation for the holiday. The party is sure to be a lot of fun!
The play process is so much fun! With their scripts in hand our young actors and actresses are getting excited for their upcoming play at the end of the month. Rehearsals have begun in the classroom and we are busy working together to memorize our lines, learn about character voices, and where and how we will stand on stage. The children have also started learning their dance for the show and some songs that are sure to be a hit! Only one more week before we start going up on the stage to practice! We are so proud of our Blue and Green K performers. Remember....practice, practice, practice at home!
