This week Mrs. Glynn visited both Kindergarten classrooms to teach the children more about rocks. After a large group discussion and learning some new information, the children split up into smaller groups to experiment. They discovered that when rocks mix with water, the water causes them to break down and leave sediment. They were able to examine conglomerate, granite, and sandstone, and it was interesting to learn that some rocks have more sediment than others. After her lesson, Mrs. Glynn left a rock set for us so that we can take a closer look at them during our center time. The children are already hard at work examining all of the different kinds.
