Blue and Green K adopted two new friends. Each classroom is now home to a crayfish! Mrs. Glynn assigned expert third grade buddies to come down and feed our crayfish and answer some questions. As our curiosity grew, we invited Mrs. Glynn in this week to help us learn more about the crayfish. She was able to take it out of the container so the children could get a closer look. She asked the children to think about what they noticed, and also encouraged them to think about how they eat, what they look like, and where they live. After everyone had a turn to look we had a great discussion and the children completed observational drawings at the tables. A few days later we learned that the Blue K crayfish molted! This visit from Mrs. Glynn was perfect timing as we will be moving into a non fiction reading and writing unit when we return from the break. We hope you all have a wonderful two weeks with your families!
