This week Kindergarten students traveled to Camden to the Adventure Aquarium where we attended a very entertaining and informative program! The children were able to hold and feel the skins of a seal and a snake! We figured out that the skin of the snake was the length of nineteen children! Afterwards we got to meet Morticia the owl and hold a turtle and a horseshoe crab! We went on our own tour after the program, which was a lot of fun. We were able to watch Hippopotamuses eating a snack of greens, and then we went through a shark tunnel; the sharks were so close we felt like we could almost touch them! This was perfect timing as we launch full speed ahead into our non-fiction unit. The children will be studying and writing about water animals so it was a great opportunity for them to see them up close.
