The kindergarten children traveled down to Bordentown this week to visit Fernbrook Farms for our first field trip of the year. Fernbrook is a very special working farm where the children were able to experience seeing several animals, such as cows, sheep, and goats. We had a great time going for a ride on a tractor to see some pigs, and then enjoyed walking through the fields to pick some vegetables. Along the way, we observed some dogwood trees and learned how they produce some edible fruit. The children also had an educational lesson about the soil on the farm and then had fun making their own soil. It was a spectacular day and great fun! What a wonderful way to kick off the fall season.
